We are screening for a Director of Nursing for one of our Carolina clients. Below is a profile.
This is a DON opportunity for a nursing home situated within a beautiful campus home sited on a river. The even terrain has been beautifully landscaped with shade trees and relaxing picnic and recreational areas, ponds and a golf course. The commitment and foresight of the founders, friends, leaders, and residents have enabled the campus to continue to provide the pleasures and privileges of continuing care retirement at its very best in an atmosphere of health, wellness and freedom. Some of the amenities include 700 acres, Golf course, Stocked ponds, Walking/Bike trails, Nature/bird walk to the River, Community Center, Public and private gardening areas, Picnic area with facilities , Library, Computer Room, Fitness Center, Heated pool, Bocce Ball court , and Woodworking shop. This senior campus offers their residents a selection of homes, duplexes and apartments specifically designed to suit a variety of individual needs. With a variety of distinctive neighborhood options to choose from.
They would like to recruit a Director of Nursing to provide nursing management, set resident care standards for all direct care providers and provide complete supervision and management for the nursing facility.
Authority is delegated to the individual in this position to:
· Assess resident needs and interview, hire and terminate adequate nursing personnel
· Set resident care standards in accordance with accepted current standards of care to provide high quality care to residents
· Develop and implement policies and procedures for nursing care of residents
· Supervise and manage all aspects of the nursing department
· Assess, direct and supervise residents’ care needs
This Director of Nursing should be able to cooperate with administration to assure efficient, cost-effective operation of the facility. Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents’ representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers. The DON is expected to provide employees a positive supportive environment.
The medical facility is 12 years old. The campus is very proactive to their patients in the sense that they will pick up the patients and drop them off for their appointments. This position will cover retired citizens, adult day care, as well as nursing home patients. You will be part of a process that recognizes that the baby boomer generation faces retirement, there is a heightened interest in the best ways to care for older adults and prolong their abilities to live independently. This campus is located right on a river and fifty miles to the coast. This would be an employed position with full benefits.
